The study of literature is an enriching, eye – opening experience that fosters the development of new ideas, as well as an understanding of our shared history and culture. It enables the students to develop their own powers of expression, empathy and critical thinking grounded in a detailed and broad understanding of literary history. Our course provides students with advanced skills in reading, writing, presentation and all transferable skills that are valued by employers in the current market.

 

Highlights of the English Department

(1)Academically we have produced stellar results with 2015-2018 batch securing 96℅ and 2016-2019 batch notching up 97%. 

(2)The literary event annually conducted by the Department called “Litartz” has attained legendary popularity over the years with participants numbering one thousand at a time.

(3)The Shakespearean dramas enacted by the Department have become the showpiece events in the college day each and every year.

(4)The intradepartmental competitions carried out by the Department periodically have helped to bring out the innate talents,abilities,potentialities and skill sets of the students.

(5)The students of the Department are imparted extra training to hone their writing,reading,speaking and listening skills.

(6)The students of the Department are personally guided,moulded,shaped and formed in their academic pursuits.
